Sixteen questions we get every week.
How much does a mobile bartender cost in Houston? +
Mobile bartending in Houston with The Signature Pour starts at $800 for The Classic package (two certified bartenders, four hours, three batched cocktails plus beer and wine). The Signature package with custom cocktails is $1,350, and The Story package with per-guest personalization is $2,500. All prices are for labor, craft, and setup; you buy the alcohol separately at retail.
Do I need to buy the alcohol myself? +
Yes. Under Texas law, we operate as a dry-hire bartending service, which means you purchase the alcohol directly at retail and we provide the bartenders, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware, and setup. We send an exact shopping list based on your guest count and event length, so there's no guesswork. Most clients save well over a thousand dollars compared to a licensed caterer's alcohol markup.
Do you serve non-alcoholic drinks? +
Yes. Every signature cocktail on our menu comes with a real zero-proof twin, designed alongside the original rather than added as an afterthought. We also run full non-alcoholic bars for dry weddings, corporate wellness events, and Dry January activations. See our zero-proof bar page for the full menu.
How far in advance should I book a mobile bartender? +
We recommend booking four to eight weeks ahead for most events, and four to nine months ahead for weddings, especially on popular spring and fall weekends. If you're planning a custom cocktail through The Signature or The Story package, start that conversation at least six weeks before your event.
Do you serve at my home, or only at rented venues? +
We serve at any location — private homes, backyards, rented event venues, office spaces, and outdoor properties across greater Houston. We coordinate directly with you or your venue on load-in time, power access, and water access as part of every booking.
What areas of Houston do you serve? +
We serve the greater Houston metro area, including Inner Loop neighborhoods, the Heights, Montrose, River Oaks, the Energy Corridor, Sugar Land, Katy, The Woodlands, and Pearland. If you're outside these areas, ask us — we travel for the right event.
Are you insured and TABC certified? +
Yes. Our bartenders are TABC-certified and trained to check IDs, monitor consumption, and serve responsibly. We carry liability coverage appropriate for mobile bartending events. Certification and insurance details can be provided directly to your venue if required. See the TABC certification and Texas permit rules guide for the full picture.
What's included in a bartending package? +
Every package includes certified bartenders, full bar setup (tables, tools, glassware or eco-friendly cups, ice, garnishes, and mixers), a cocktail menu with zero-proof options, and a shopping list for the alcohol you'll purchase. Higher tiers add custom cocktail development, named story cards, per-guest personalization, and a dedicated content shooter.
How many bartenders will work my event? +
Our standard packages include two certified bartenders, which comfortably covers 50 to 150 guests. For larger events, we add additional bartenders and bar stations based on your guest count — tell us your headcount when you inquire and we'll recommend the right staffing.
Can you create a custom cocktail named after me, my company, or a guest of honor? +
Yes. Custom cocktail development is included in The Signature and The Story packages. We interview you about the story you want the drink to tell, build and name the cocktail, and print it on story cards for the bar. Every custom cocktail includes a zero-proof twin.
What if some of my guests don't drink alcohol? +
Every event includes zero-proof options by default. Signature cocktails ship with a real non-alcoholic twin built with the same craft and presentation, so guests who are pregnant, sober, driving, or simply not drinking get a full cocktail experience instead of a plain soda water.
Do you provide the ice, cups, garnishes, and mixers? +
Yes. Every package includes ice, glassware or cups, fresh garnishes, house-made syrups and mixers, and all bar tools. You only need to supply the alcohol per our shopping list and, in most cases, a table or counter space for the bar.
What's the difference between dry-hire and a licensed catering bar? +
A licensed catering bar typically purchases the alcohol themselves and marks it up 3 to 4 times retail cost, baked into their invoice. Dry-hire means you buy the alcohol yourself at retail price, and the bartending company charges only for labor, craft, and setup. Dry-hire is legal in Texas for private events and typically saves clients well over a thousand dollars. For the full breakdown — including dry hire vs. open bar and the Texas permit rules — see our dry-hire bartending guide.
Do you require a deposit to book? +
Yes, a deposit secures your date once you accept a quote, with the balance due before the event. Exact terms are outlined in your booking agreement, which we send after your initial inquiry.
Can you run a completely alcohol-free event with zero alcohol at all? +
Yes. We regularly run fully dry weddings, sober celebrations, and alcohol-free corporate events using our zero-proof menu exclusively. The bar looks and operates identically to a full-proof setup — same bartenders, same glassware, same craft — just without any alcohol on site.
How do I book The Signature Pour? +
Submit the inquiry form on our homepage with your event date, guest count, and event type. We typically reply within a couple of hours with cocktail ideas and a quote. There's no obligation to book after receiving a quote.
