How far in advance should you book a wedding bartender?
Four to nine months ahead for popular Houston dates — spring and fall weekends book first — and at least six weeks before the date if you want a custom signature cocktail. Shorter timelines sometimes work, so ask.
The timeline, step by step.
Lock the date
- Popular Houston wedding dates go first
- Spring and fall weekends are the tightest
- Submit the inquiry form to check your date
~6 weeks out
- Custom cocktail development begins
- We interview the couple and build the drink
- A zero-proof twin is designed alongside it
Closer in
- Batched-menu bookings like The Classic remain possible
- Depends entirely on what the calendar allows
- Shorter timelines sometimes work — just ask
Why Houston weekends go first.
- ✦Spring and fall weekends fill first. Weather makes them the most requested wedding dates in Houston, so they're the ones to lock in earliest.
- ✦December corporate calendars fill earliest of all. If you're planning a holiday office party rather than a wedding, book by early fall — that calendar moves on its own, faster timeline.
- ✦Non-wedding events have more room. Birthdays and private parties usually only need a few weeks' notice — see booking on a shorter timeline.
What happens after you inquire.
Booking starts with the inquiry form at /#book — your event date, guest count, and event type. From there, we typically reply within a couple of hours with cocktail ideas and a quote. There's no obligation attached to asking; it's the fastest way to find out whether your date is open and what a wedding bar for your guest count would look like.
If your date is more than six weeks out, that reply is also where custom cocktail planning starts. If it's closer than that, we'll tell you plainly what's realistic — a batched menu is usually still on the table even when custom development isn't.
What to include
- Your event date
- Guest count
- Event type (wedding, corporate, birthday, party)
Figuring out headcounts too?
Booking timing is only one piece of planning a wedding bar. If you're also trying to work out how many bartenders your guest count needs or how much alcohol to buy, the bar planning guide has the real numbers and the math shown — bartender ratios, bottle counts, and a worked 100-guest example.
